The Lucent series use a horizontal line animated in real time by the sound of a freeway to create a wave form. In this series light from video projectors is employed as a sculptural element. The light itself forms a surface that creates a tangible volume.
Lucent [2] is an extension from Lucent [1]. The animated line generated by the sound is broken into separate, floating shards. This both fragments and augments the illusion of a solid surface. Lucent [2] employs only 1 video projector. The internal reflections within the aquarium can only be see from certain angles, thus the viewers position in relation to the work defines the level of complexity they see.
